County Distributes Agricultural Inputs Worth Over 15 Million To Over 35 Farmers Groups In Kipsomba Ward
The County Department of Agriculture, Agribusiness, Livestock and Fisheries in partnership with Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture(KCSAP) on Thursday distributed farm input worth over 15 million shillings to 35 Common interest groups (CIGs) and Vulnerable and marginalized groups (VMGs) groups in Kipsomba Ward.
Overseeing the distribution exercise, the Ag Director Livestock Abraham Kiptanui said that the farm inputs will go a long way in improving the economic livelihoods of over 875 members of the groups and further reiterated the efforts by Governor Bii’s administration to empower the residents economically.
The inputs distributed include 770 50kgs bags of growers mash, 504 pieces of feeders, 20 drinkers, 816 packets (25 grams) of Managu seeds, 2424 Avacado seedlings, 2113 Tissue culture Banana seedlings, 109 kgs of boma rhodes, 107 bags of DAP fertilizer, 72 bags of
CAN, 13kgs Brachiaria seeds, 17kgs Desmodium among other inputs.
The groups also benefited from various farm machinery including multipurpose choppers and brush cutters.
