County to Partner With WSUP to Promote Health and Sanitation Urban Areas
Chief Officer for Promotive and Preventive Health, Dr. Joyce Sang on hosted officials from the Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor organization(WSUP)to discuss on a partnership program that aims to improve access to safe water, sanitation, hygiene and mestrual hygiene services in the urban areas.
Speaking in her office, Dr. Joyce Sang said the initiative to partner with the Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor organisation aims to implement effective strategies to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in urban communities.
Dr Sang also said that as a Department they embrace partnerships because it signifies a crucial step towards achieving improved health and sanitation in the towns and through this partnership, they hope to create sustainable solutions that will have a lasting impact on the communities.
WSUP Country Manager Eden Martin said the partnership program once formalised will also focus on providing menstrual hygiene services to school children which has been them.
Acting Director of Public Health Laban Kiprop said that with the coming in of the partner,poor sanitation which has led to water borne diseases will be addressed therefore creating an enabling environment for the public in urban areas.
