Court Dismisses Interdicted Bungoma Officers
A Bungoma court has dismissed a case filed by seven officers interdicted by Governor Kenneth Lusaka.
The officers had filed a case seeking the court to reverse a decision by Governor Lusaka to interdict them.
The officers include Wakoli Wambati- county secretary, Isaac Mukenya – Deputy county secretary, Chief officers Isaac Aruput, Maurice Marango, Patrick Wandili, Chrispinus Simiyu and Abidan Kapchanga.
While dismissing the case Lady Justice Jemima Kelly said the officers had filed the case in a wrong forum citing the court has no powers to stop the Governor from disciplining his officers.
Lady Justice noted that the officers should wait for the procedure and final decision of the public service board before thinking of the court.
The officers were interdicted on diverse dates with the Governor citing abuse of office and corruption allegations.
