CS Lands Visits Uasin Gishu County Sets the Tempo For a Transformative Agenda
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii now says the visit by the Lands Cabinet Secretary Zacharia Mwangi and the Principal Secretary Charles Hinga sets the tempo for a transformative agenda of our County.
He said their presence on the ground is the fulfillment of a request I had made to president William Ruto regarding the establishment of an ultra-modern iconic architectural masterpiece green market.
“I am glad to announce that the project has been given a nod and the design process has begun. The CS has also agreed to fast-track the process bearing in mind that the new market will be beneficial by bringing an end to the rising concentration of street hawking as well as providing a solution to the high number of traders that need spaces for business. In this venture, job opportunities will increase as well as a farmer-to-trader interaction,” he said.
Governor Bii said the planned Affordable Housing project is a quick win for our County and the ministry is set to implement construction on zoned areas while equipping it with amenities such as shopping centers, health facilities, ECDE schools, playgrounds and green spaces.
“Another exciting project to be rolled out soon is the Eldoret Railway city that will create over 2000 employment opportunities during construction and over 5000 during operation. The city will augment Eldoret Municipality in its quest to attain the city status,” he added.
