Department of Water and Environmnet Welcomes New CECM
The Department of Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Energy, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change on Tuesday welcomed the new County Executive Committee Member, Dr Sam Kotut, in a joyous event marked by cake cutting at the department offices.
Dr. Kotut previously served as the CECM for Health Services and is taking over from Dr Abraham Serem.
The incoming CECM for Water and Environment, Dr Kotut, thanked the staff for their warm reception, adding that service delivery to the residents is key.
“We are here for the sole purpose of service delivery to the residents. Let us work together to achieve Governor Bii’s agenda of giving our people clean water,” added Dr Kotut.
He further advised the team to embrace teamwork and ensure they make their life at work worthwhile.
The outgoing CECM, Dr Serem, who is now serving in the Health Services Department, thanked the officers for their unwavering support during his service at the department urging them to extend the same to the new CECM.
“Continue serving with the same spirit and always strive to leave a mark in the society,” said Dr Serem.
Chief Officers Elijah Koech (Water) and Mary Kerich (Environment) while welcoming Dr Kotut pledged the department’s maximum support to his leadership.
Present were Directors Dr Charles Nyabayo (Environment), Erastus Kerich (Administration), Eng Julius Rono(Energy), Deputy Directors Eng Henry Langat (Water), Philip Lagat (Environment ) and all the Staff from the department.
