Deputy President Commends MNK Foundation Launch for Orphans’ Education

In a significant step towards ensuring equitable education opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua joined Kirinyaga Woman Representative Hon. Njeri Maina on Saturday, June 15th, to launch the MNK Foundation. The initiative, titled ‘Tupange Kesho na Gaceri Gaitu’, aims to provide quality education, marking a pivotal stride towards a brighter future for disadvantaged youths.

During the event, held in Kirinyaga County, His Excellency emphasized the collective responsibility of enhancing access to quality education as a catalyst for sustainable socio-economic transformation. He highlighted the role of government funding and supplementary scholarships in ensuring inclusive education, particularly for children living with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Hon. Njeri Maina, the driving force behind the foundation, was lauded for her visionary Scholarship and Empowerment Programme. The initiative has already impacted thousands of children within Kirinyaga County, breaking barriers and addressing poverty through education.
