Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Asks Regional and County Commissioners to Cease From Playing Politics
Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has asked both regional and County commissioners to cease politics and work together with the government to help the people.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service in Uasin Gishu Gachagua said civil servants should not involve themselves in politics and that they should respect elected leaders.
“County and regional commissioners are people who follow instruction, we have no problem with you, you were being used to settle political scores. Now you should come we work together. The work has changed, mistreating and hurting people has now ended. You as a county commissioner should respect leaders elected by the people.” said Rigathi
The deputy president said the period of using criminal cases for political reasons has come to an end.
He further said that County commissioners back to
their assigned work which includes the ongoing drought, distribution of subsidized fertilizers, issuing of identity cards, and preaching peace.
“Commissioners who were involved in politics have been taken back to their work which is helping the people. We will work with them on the ongoing drought, distributing fertilizers, acquiring identification cards, and things to do with peace. Presidents William Ruto’s government cannot send a chief to look for votes.” Said Rigathi.
He thanked president William Ruto’s Personnel Assistant Farouk Kibet on behalf of the people of Koilel, for playing a very vital role in presidents William Ruto’s win and wished him well.
“This man Farouk many people don’t know him but he played a vital role in ensuring that Kenya Kwanza wins the just concluded August polls. Farouk is a man who organized us during campaigns,” he said.
Among the political leaders in attendance included the National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet among others.
