Devolution Steering Committee Conducts a Progress Report Meeting
The County Government of Uasin Gishu, under the leadership of Governor Jonathan Bii, recently conducted a significant progress report meeting in preparation for the upcoming Devolution Conference scheduled to be held in the County from the 15th-19th August 2023.
The meeting took place at an Eldoret Hotel presided over by H. E Governor Jonathan Bii and his counterpart Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Devolution Conference Committee, alongside esteemed officials from the Senate and Council of Governors.
This event holds immense importance for the economic advancement of the County, as it will reflect on the accomplishments of the past decade.
The meeting saw the presence of distinguished individuals, including Honorable Teresia Mbaika, the Principal Secretary for Devolution, Hon. Jackson Mandago, the Uasin Gishu Senator, and Hon. Margaret Kamar, ( Nominated Senator).
Notable Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) were also in attendance, with Majority leader Julius Sang, Deputy Speaker Hon. Sarah Malel and Elgeyo Marakwet Speaker Hon. Philemon Sabulei among them.
Alongside other high-ranking government officials, they convened to ensure that preparations for the impending devolution conference are proceeding smoothly and effectively.
As the conference draws near, the County Government is diligently laying out comprehensive plans to guarantee its success and efficacy. The collaboration between various stakeholders, under the guidance of the Governor and the steering committee, promises to make this conference a significant milestone in our County’s journey towards growth and prosperity through devolution.
