DP Gachagua Hits at Critiques Questioning His Utterances
Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has hit at critics questioning his way of leadership and utterances made after Kenya Kwanza was elected into office.
Speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony held at Koilel, Uasin Gishu County Gachagua told his critiques to be used to his way of talking.
“I cannot be threatened. With my many years, how do I change and start telling lies? If somebody has a problem with my transparent nature, they should blame my late parents who raised me like that. Those who have a problem with that should start getting used to your deputy president early. Do you want lies or the truth?” said the deputy president.
Urging all government officials to respect all elected leaders as they are the representation of the people and they should aid in service delivery and not intimidation of individuals to conform to the government’s agenda.
“This issue of intimidating officials with court cases is over. The days of arresting people on Friday for political reasons are over. I spoke to the administration officers and county commissioners and told them we come together and do the work for Kenyans. They should respect governors, MPs and all elected leaders. The days of disrespecting elected leaders are over.” Noted Rigathi Gachagua.
The deputy president promised to bring back the glory associated with chiefs, police officers, and all administration officers saying never again shall they be used for political reasons.
“We want to bring respect to all the chiefs and DCC and all county commissioners. We want them to do their work, get paid, and go home. Nothing more. We will also add the salaries to police officers so that they are contented with what they earn so that they can stop collecting the small tips.” added the deputy president.
