She takes a moment to share with us more about colorectal cancer
“Colorectal cancer is a primary global health concern, affecting millions of people globally, particularly in the colon and rectum.
According to recent statistics from the Global Cancer Observatory 2022, Kenya reports roughly 44,726 new cancer cases each year, with 29,317 deaths, making colorectal cancer the fifth most frequent disease in the country, trailing only breast, cervical, prostate, and esophageal cancer. Every year, Kenya has around 3,091 new instances of colorectal cancer, with 2,116 fatalities.
Recognizing its worldwide prevalence, increasing awareness, particularly in March, is critical for supporting early identification and preventative measures.
Publicizing this issue may urge people to take preventative measures for their health, perhaps saving lives. Let us work together to promote awareness and push for timely colorectal cancer screenings. “Together, we can effectively combat this disease.
