Duale and Alice Wahome Express Gratitude to President Following Cabinet Nominations

Following President William Ruto’s recent announcement of 11 new cabinet secretary appointments, including the re-nomination of several key figures, former Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Bare Duale and former Kandara MP Alice Wahome have taken to social media to express their gratitude and reaffirm their commitment to serve.

Aden Duale, who is set to return to the Ministry of Defence, thanked the President for reappointing him to the crucial national security role. Duale, who previously served in this position for nearly two years, expressed his appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him and emphasized his readiness to advance the nation’s security agenda.

“This nomination reflects the President’s and the Kenyan people’s profound trust and confidence in my ability to advance our nation’s agenda and, more particularly, the national security of our nation hence contribute to its greatness,” Duale said. He also affirmed his readiness to undergo scrutiny before the National Assembly.

Alice Wahome, newly appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing & Urban Development, also took to social media to thank President Ruto for her nomination. Wahome acknowledged the significant responsibilities that come with the role and pledged to serve with dedication and uphold the rule of law.

“This is a huge responsibility, especially at this defining time for our nation. I confirm my commitment to serve Kenyans with dedication and within the rule of law,” Wahome stated.

The President’s reshuffle also sees Kithure Kindiki and Davis Chirchir return to prominent roles. Kindiki will continue as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, while Chirchir is reappointed as the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport. Additionally, Rebecca Miano has been nominated as the new Attorney General, taking over from Justin Muturi.

These appointments mark a significant moment in the current administration, reflecting both continuity and strategic shifts as President Ruto seeks to consolidate his team for the challenges ahead.
