Health services will be delivered up-to-standard through collaboration with partners and other stakeholders in Trans Nzoia, the county CEC for health Dr. Joseph Pepela has said.

Speaking during a stakeholder meeting that brought together more than 24 health partners, the CEC stated that the main aim of the meeting is creating synergies regarding how the county is going to move forward on matters of health without duplication of activities among partners.

He said a collaborative effort with partners would ensure the department achieves Governor George Natembeya’s 14-point plan.

The purpose of the meeting is to map out the partners and get an overview of what each does in the county. It is critical for us to know who is responsible for the services we receive, as preventive measures. We have the curative and preventive aspects so we want to look at who is responsible for these fields. Speaking of maternal health, HIV prevention, and family planning, who are the stakeholders within the county that are carrying out these activities”, he said.

During his speech, the CEC lauded the efforts being made by partners to provide health services to residents. He said that the mapping of services would assist in planning for the future, as the county’s budgetary allocations are still below what is recommended. Without partners, the county would not be able to fulfil its promise.
The CEC said Governor George Natembeya’s administration will soon roll out a digitalization program to curb the wastage of resources.

There is currently no automation in our facilities, but in order to ensure the security of our products and technologies, the system must be automated. Some of the partners are tasked with undertaking the mapping and others the automated systems,” Dr. Pepela said.

While lauding the county for organizing the forum, USAID AMPATH Uzima county representative Dr. James Mairura said that by working hand in hand, the county will be able to achieve a lot. This is because the mapping of services would ensure the effective use of available resources which will lead to improved service delivery.
