Echo Network Africa Participates in finance bill
Echo Network Africa, a women-led, women-serving institution and the Democracy Trust Fund, have submitted their proposals on the #FinanceBill2023, including taxation of crowd funding, which they proposed it be reconsidered.
This is because crowdfunding is mainly used to raise funds for medical, educational or not-for-profit initiatives. They argue that taxing such resources would also kill the old-age tradition of local philanthropy which has been a bedrock of support for millions of needy Kenyans.
