The milestone positions the institution as a leader in embedding sustainability into the classroom context.

Dr. Joe Bonga, Founder and CEO of Africa for SDGs, led the launch ceremony, emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainability into education. “Mainstreaming learning to promote sustainability within the classroom context is essential in driving progress towards the SDGs,” Dr. Bonga remarked.

He further noted the vital role of TVET institutions in advancing the Global Citizenship SDGs, stating, “The Global Citizenship SDGs in TVET institutes will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.”

The newly established hub is set to become a focal point for fostering education that not only enhances technical skills but also promotes global citizenship and sustainability, aligning with Kenya’s broader development agenda.
