Eldoret Ready to be a City
As Eldoret town prepares to be elevated to City status in 2023, preparedness and quick response to emergencies by a team of Uasin Gishu County rescue firefighters with skilled manpower is a major milestone for the region.
Disaster Management and Preparedness is among the measures put in place by Governor Jonathan Bii led administration.
The Uasin Gishu firefighting brigade retrieved the body of a male adult from a trench with overflowing waters at Cherunya area in Langas ward, Kapseret Sub County. According to the village elder Michael Okoth and resident Alice Atieno, the deceased identified as George Okoth could have fallen into the deep trench while trying to cross when drunk.
The locals appealed to the government to ensure the contractor completes the project quickly to avert such incidents in the area.
