Eldoret: Residents Demonstrate in Support of A Man Alleged to Defile a Minor
In a turn of events residents of Kambi Karatasi in the outskirts of Mwanzo protested against the arrest of Ndungu who is alleged to have defiled a minor.
Led by the Human Rights activist Evan Odhiambo said the accused who was arrested and appeared in court is innocent.
“We have known Ndungu for many years and we know that he is innocent and cannot do such a heinous act,” said Odhiambo.
He said an independent doctor should do a test for justice for the accused and the minor to be served.
“The people who did and witnessed the exercise, we don’t trust them that’s why we want the test to be done again since we are sure that our brother is innocent”, said Odhiambo
The residents accused the police of giving wrong results to the court which made the accused be charged with defilement which he never did.
“Ndu’ngu never did that and we need justice for ndongo and the test should be repeated”, said Ernest Ruto one of the residents.
Nathan Oburu lawyer of to accused said his client is a suspect and asked the court to allow a second test to be carried out on the minor but the ruling has been given that the minor should not be taken for a second examination
“We want a fair judgment from the court this is after the second test is done “, added Oburu.
