Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial aspirant Joseph Boinnet Condemns Killings in Elgeyo Marakwet
Former inspector General of and Elgeyo Marakwet gubernatorial aspirant Joseph Boinnet has condemned an incident where two people lost their lives while seven suffered severe injuries after they were attacked by bandits.
Speaking to the press after visiting survivors at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Boinett said the move is uncalled for and ill intended and should be condemned with the strongest terms possible.
“It sad that we have yet again lost two innocent lives in the hand of bandits as a leader from the County I want to condemn the attack with the strongest terms possible, why is the government mum while innocent lives are being lost,” said Boinnet while speaking to the press.
“I want to condole with the family of the deceased Jackson and Edwin and pray for quick recovery for the injured .It is time that all charged with security and people in Elgeyo to look for a lasting solution to look for a lasting solution to stop this menace where innocent lives have been lost,” he added.
He says if all stakeholders will be brought to a round table and solve the mater once and for all.
“I firmly believe it must come to an end and it will end if we engaged in multi-disciplinary and all stakeholder approach to look for durable peace in Kerio valley. I have also spoken to senior individuals of security and I have pleaded with IG Mutyambai to consider bring back police reservist ,this will help our police in providing security since they know everything about the valley and will help bring peace,” he added.
He called on residents to support police agencies in stopping this menace of insecurity in Kerio valley since it will only take an all stakeholders to stop it.
