Joshua Nyanamba, a member of the Samia Value Addition Association based at the Funyula CIDC has had a long-harbored dream of bringing clean, safe drinking water to his community.

His motivation stems from the pressing need within his community for access to clean and safe drinking water, as many residents rely on water sourced from the river, which poses risks of contamination and waterborne diseases.

With a half-a-million Kenya shillings investment, Joshua has set up his water bottling and refilling plant named Bassi Springs, which is equipped with state-of-the-art machines capable of filtering 1000 liters of water per hour.

Bassi Springs is still in the formative stages as Joshua is diligently working towards acquiring the @KEBS_ke certification for quality assurance supported by the MSEA Busia office.

Joshua is also keen on uplifting the youth in his community employing ten young individuals on a casual basis, giving them a chance to earn a livelihood and contribute to their families’ well-being as the company sets up.
