Eng. Anthony Chelimo Launches His Elgeyo Marakwet Gubernatorial Bid
Eng. Anthony Chelimo has launched his Manifesto in his bid to be the second governor of Elgeyo Marakwet.
Eng Chelimo who is also the party leader of the National Vision Party which was led by the then powerful Minister Nicholas Kipyator Biwott said his priority is on infrastructure and Health which is in a dilapidated condition.
He will be vying using the National Vision Party ticket.
“I want to call upon the people of Elgeyo Marakwet to give me a chance as their second governor. My priority areas include infrastructure, value addition, education, and health sectors in which a lot of hospitals are without medicine. This will be a thing of the past if elected,” said Chelimo while speaking to the press.
He said he will ensure that there is disaster preparedness since at moment they are forced to seek services from the neighboring Counties.
“I will also create a conducive environment where the investor will come and invest in our county while concerning insecurity which has been the order of the day I will ensure that insecurity will be a thing of the past. I will work with MCA’s to ensure that more funds are channeled to Wards which will benefit electorates directly,” added Eng.Chelimo.
He further said that his party fully supports deputy president William Samoei Ruto’s presidential bid in the forthcoming general elections.
“As National Vision Party we support DP Ruto’s presidential bid and we will campaign for him across the Country until he clinches the presidency,” he added.
Gladys Mulati Transzoia County a county incoming women representative called on residents to support Eng. Chelimo’s gubernatorial bid saying he has what it takes to be the next Elgeyo Marakwet governor.
“I want to thank our party leader for what he has done for making youths useful by organizing such an event. This is the leader that you have been looking for please elect him and you won’t regret it,” she said.
Francis Ireri Nyaga MP aspirant Naivasha constituency says the National Vision Party will bring development and any candidate within the party is driven by the people they represent.
“We will work with everyone that wants to work for the people.”Let us vote for leaders who will bring the development of people and the people of Elgeyo Marakwet let’s stand with our party leader,” he said.
Josephine Wambura woman Rep. aspirant Embu County on National Vision party says “This is the person who as the interest of people of Elgeyo Marakwet at heart and if elected all the problems that are being witnessed will be a thing of the past,”
“I am happy to see what has happened by choosing Chelimo you will never regret and choosing Chelimo is like choosing deputy president William Samoei Ruto,” Mugo Kinywa Harision treasurer National Vision Party said.
Eng Chelimo also witnessed the finals for the National Vision tournament.
“The aim of the tournament was to nurture the untapped talents for the youths to earn a living using their talents and also to make them useful. The winner of the men’s football got Sh 100,000 while the women’s team got Sh 70,000. We also awarded positions two to four,” he said.
He also gave uniforms to over 60 teams who participated in the tournament.
