FasTrack the Key Water Projects- CEO Koech

County Chief Officer for Water,Irrigation and Sanitation Mr. Elijah Koech on Tuesday presided over the fourth quarterly meeting at his departmental office.

The primary agendas of the meeting included reviewing the currently ongoing projects, discussing the flagship projects, and addressing the rollover projects that had been scheduled for the previous financial year but had remained incomplete.

CO Koech while leading the meeting discussed on the progress of the projects in the sub-counties and the need to plan effectively for the remaining months of the financial year.

“You should be working diligently to ensure that all the projects are complete within the stipulated time, ” he said.

“The allocation of Water fund on key project promised by H.E Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii in his Nguzo number 7 is key and should be prioritized, “added Koech.

The formation of the Uasin Gishu Rural Water and Supply Company is a strategic move to centralize the management of water-related issues in the county and the company has been officially registered, with a certificate and a dedicated bank account.

County Director of Water Stephen Barno reiterated that he directors have been appointed, and the team has already started the process of transitioning staff from the water department to the new company.

“This transition will ensure a seamless implementation of the water projects, as the experienced personnel from the water department will be leading the charge,” added Barno.

Director for Planning and Administration Mr. Erastus Kerich was also present.
