Former Cabinet Secretaries Speak Out After President Ruto’s Recent Firing
In a surprising turn of events today, President William Ruto dismissed several Cabinet Secretaries, leaving many Kenyans in shock. The former officials have since taken to social media to express their gratitude and bid farewell to their roles.
Aden Duale, who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence, took to his X account to thank President Ruto and the Kenyan people for the opportunity to lead the country’s security docket. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto for entrusting me with the role of Cabinet Secretary for Defence in the first Kenya Kwanza Administration. I am deeply honored and will forever be indebted to him and the people of Kenya for this opportunity to serve our great nation,” Duale wrote.
Aisha Jumwa, the former Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage, also expressed her appreciation. Having been part of the Kenya Kwanza government since its inception in 2022, Jumwa stated, “It was such an honour to serve as a Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage under the leadership of President William Samoei Ruto. I am glad that I got the chance to serve the people of our great nation. Thank you Mr. President and I wish you well.”
Ababu Namwamba, who was the Cabinet Secretary for Sports, took the opportunity to thank both President Ruto and the Kenyan public for their support during his tenure. “I thank His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto for the trust and confidence that informed my appointment to serve in Cabinet for the second time in my public service life,” Namwamba said. He also expressed his continued support for the government’s efforts, stating he will keep praying for its success.
