Former President Condoles With The Late Prof. Mgohas’so Family
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta visited and condoled with the family of the late former Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Omore Magoha at their Lavington residence in Nairobi County.
The former Head of State, who was accompanied by a section of Cabinet & Principal Secretaries, who served in the former administration, eulogised Prof. Magoha as a passionate and dedicated public servant who discharged his duties with utmost diligence.
Paying glowing tribute to Prof. Magoha, during prayers led by Father Dominic Wamugunda, former President Kenyatta pointed out that the late former Education Cabinet Secretary was instrumental in transforming the Ministry of Education.
“I have no doubt that when I made him a minister, I made the right decision in putting him at the helm of education sector, a man who deserved that position,” said the former Head of State.
He cited the leading role he played in the formulation and implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and the 100% transition from primary to secondary school as some of Prof. Magoha’s landmark achievements.
Reminiscing their time in public service with Prof. Magoha, the Cabinet and Principal secretaries led by Dr. Fred Matiang’i and Dr (Eng). Karanja Kibicho (Interior) described the late Professor as a team-player and hard worker who believed in excellence.
The former President assured the bereaved family of his unwavering support as they prepare to give the fallen academic giant a befitting send-off.
