Governor Bii Hosts Netherlands Deputy Ambassador
Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii hosting a delegation from the Netherlands Embassy, led by the Deputy Ambassador, H.E. Joris van Bommel.
According to governor Bii the purpose of their visit to our county is to engage in collaborative efforts for development, aiming to unlock our economic potential. We take great pride in being part of this transformative initiative that seeks to revolutionize economic practices.
“Our discussions today primarily focused on the introduction of the Warehouse Receipting System (WRS), which is set to bring about significant changes in the trading and storage of commodities within our county. Key will be to increase farmers incomes, reduce post harvest losses and enhance market linkages,” he said.
In attendance were partners from International Finance Corporation, Presidential Economic Transformative advisors, National Cereals and Produce Board Officials, Lucy Komen acting Chief Executive Officer Warehouse Receipt System, Members of County Assembly, County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers among other leaders.
