Governor Bii Joined President Ruto in the Final Send Off of Kelvin Kiptum

Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii joined President William Samoei Ruto, and his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua,, in paying tribute during the final send-off ceremony of world marathon champion, Kelvin Kiptum

The ceremony took place at Chepkorio showgrounds in Keiyo South constituency, Elgeyo Marakwet County

“The late world marathon champion, Kelvin Kiptum, will be remembered for overcoming all odds and conquering the world,” he said.

“We eulogized our champion as an embodiment of selflessness and humility, an elite athlete who exemplified the Kenyan anti-doping spirit of ‘running and winning clean.’ May he rest in eternity,” he added.

. Later, I joined the family and other leaders in laying him to rest at his home in Naiberi area, Uasin Gishu.

Dignitaries present included Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi; Cabinet Secretaries, Hon. Ababu Namwamba (Sports) and Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen (Roads); Governors, H.E Wisley Rotich, Simon Kachapin (West Pokot), and H.E Stephen Sang (Nandi); MPs among others.
