Governor George Natembeya has made improving food security a primary goal for his administration. To achieve this, he plans to empower farmers by providing them with affordable and high-quality agriculture inputs under his Mbegu initiative.

To kick start this initiative, Governor Natembeya has been distributing free seeds to farmers across the county, taking advantage of the available nitrogen cycle and rains to fill the gap in the current planting season. This move is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security in the county.

Speaking today in Endebess, Governor Natembeya reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring that farmers receive farm inputs at reasonable prices. He also emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that farmers receive the expected price for their produce, which will, in turn, motivate them to produce more.

The governor’s efforts to empower farmers have been well-received, with many lauding the initiative as a step in the right direction towards achieving food security in the county. By providing farmers with affordable inputs, The Governor hopes to make agriculture a profitable venture for the farmers, which will, in turn, improve the economy of the county.
