Members of the public have been urged to ensure that they go for regular medical check-ups to ensure their wellness.

Speaking to the press after rolling out a medical camp exercise Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii said that regular checkups will help one in diagnosing diseases early enough for ease of treatment.

“Just like the service we do to our cars, our bodies too need to be checked to ensure that everything is in good condition. A healthy County is a wealthy County. This morning, I rolled out a medical camp exercise where experienced doctors and surgeons from the United States and Europe are they are working closely with our health staff to conduct free screening and surgeries on our residents,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.

The medical camp is currently taking place in four sub-counties namely; Burnt Forest, Turbo, Ziwa, and Uasin Gishu, and our residents should use this opportunity and avail themselves in order to benefit from the 10-day exercise.

“My administration will strive to increase productivity and work closely with all the health staff in ensuring that my vision for the residents in accessing affordable health care is made a reality,” he added.

He challenged the residents to ensure that they register for NHIF citing that it had been restructured and that it now covers other illnesses which were not included earlier.

“The NHIF cover cushions its members from huge bills accrued due to sickness and which may drain resources from the family of an ill person.
