Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration is keen on transforming the lives of its citizens by providing green energy

In line with this promise, a delegation of German partners on Sunday morning visited the county to explore opportunities for decentralized energy provision in the field of green energy with a particular focus on providing households with renewable and affordable energy.

Led by Sabine Drees, Manager for Foreign Affairs, from association of German Cities assigned by the international cities platform connective cities. The delegation also included Mr. Clemens Lammerskitten, a Council Member from the County of Osnabrueck. Dave Yator a Kenyan advisor and the chairperson of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Uasin Gishu chapter Mr. Willy Kenei.

During the meeting, the Deputy Governor, Eng. John Barorot, praised the German partners for their contribution to the renewable energy industry in their country and urged them to provide solutions in the county.

Dr. Abraham Serem, the Environment and Water County Executive Committee Member, emphasized the need for an alternative solution to the high cost of energy. He noted that water provision is a priority for the county, and the partnership is exploring the possibility of using solar energy to draw water and pump it into households’ tanks.
