Governor Mandago Leads Uasin Gishu Leaders in Mourning Former President Mwai Kibaki
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has mourned the death of former President Emilio Mwai Kibaki.
Through his official Facebook page Mandago described as great revolutionalist.
“My sincere condolence to the family, friends and relatives of the late 3rd President of the Republic of Kenya H.E Mwai Kibaki. He was a great revolutionalist, an established economist and a true leader who believed in National Unity, Infrastructural Development, Peace and hard-work,” said the Uasin Gishu governor.
He says president Kibaki has left behind a great legacy that is worth emulation.
“I join World, Regional and Local leaders in paying tribute to this great leader of our times who revived our economy and touched many souls. We have lost a great public servant who selflessly served in Public service, National Assembly, Vice President and later a great President of this country,” he added.
Governor Jackson who was elected on a Jubilee party has declared his interest for the Uasin Gishu senatorial seat in the forthcoming elections.
Uasin Gishu UDA governor nominee wrote “I have learnt of the unfortunate passing on of Former President Mwai Kibaki with a profound sense of great loss and I wish to join my fellow countrymen and women in paying tribute to the fallen hero as we convey our sympathies to his family.
In Kibaki, we have lost an icon, a celebrated economic leader in whose leadership our economic liberalization and progress were immensely realized.May his soul rest well in eternity and may his well-pronounced good deeds be our guide and challenge to further the development journey along the path he began,”
Speaker David Kiplagat wrote” Rest in Peace H.E. Emilio Mwai Kibaki, 3rd President of the Republic of Kenya. Kenya has lost a selfless leader who will be remembered for fostering Kenya’s economic growth and development,”
