Governor Natembeya leads stakeholders in marking the International Coffee Day

Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya today joined the coffee sector stakeholders in marking the International Coffee Day at Muroki in Saboti Sub County.

The annual event is imperative for the coffee sub sector as it provides an opportunity for Kenya’s coffee industry stakeholders to reflect on the achievements attained in the coffee value chain.

The day is celebrated annually to recognise the efforts of companies dealing in coffee, promote fair trade in the coffee industry and to appreciate the farmers who grow coffee all over the world.

It also provides the opportunity to help raise awareness of the plights of coffee farmers and a chance to offer solutions to the challenges.

The auspicious event was also attended by the County Executive Member (CECM) for Agriculture Mary Nzomo, Chief Officer Robert Musikoyo and the County Director of Agriculture Edward Osanya among other county staff.

Governor Natembeya assured coffee farmers that his government will endeavor in promoting the sub sector including putting up measures and structures that will enable value addition so that they can reap more from their ventures.
