Governor Natembeya pledges support in nurturing talent for children with Special Needs

Governor George Natembeya has affirmed that his administration will support children with special needs to fully exploit their talents by participating in sporting activities.
The Governor noted that such children had hidden talents that can be tapped for income generation and at the same time used as a unifying factor for the otherwise discriminated cadre.
He said this Friday morning when he hosted World 50 meters dash run paralympic gold medalist Purity Kandie, her coach Rhoda Kitan and their delegation.

The 19-year-old student at Kitale School broke the World Record in the dash sport during the World Special Olympic games held in Berlin, Germany earlier this month.

On her part, Ms Kandie hailed the Governor for allowing the sporting program to be commenced in the county citing that it was bound to lift Trans Nzoia County’s flag as well as that of the nation globally.

The Rift Valley Special Olympics Coordinator cum Coach pledged to work hand in hand with the Governor to ensure that his aspirations are met.
