The county government of Trans Nzoia has forged a partnership with Ascenza to establish egg and poultry production centers in the region.

This strategic plan aims to create a robust enterprise capable of producing over 70 million eggs annually for a period of three years.

To bring this initiative to fruition, Governor George Natembeya has directed a proficient team from the Department of Agriculture, led by CEC Phanice Khatundi, to collaborate with the investor’s team and devise a comprehensive work plan.

The objective is to ensure the project’s launch within 60 days.

Governor Natembeya expressed his vision during a meeting held in his office, stating, “Our goal is to transform Trans Nzoia into a thriving egg and poultry hub that capitalizes on the abundant market opportunities within the region.”

As part of this ambitious endeavour, ten state-of-the-art egg and poultry centres will be established across the county’s five sub-counties.

Each facility will be strategically situated on a 100-acre piece of land and is expected to employ a minimum of 1,200 individuals per centre.

The project, which has received substantial financial backing from key partners, aims to revolutionize the region into a prominent egg and poultry hub, leveraging the immense potential of this thriving industry.
