Governor Otuoma Reaches Out To KeNHA For Construction and Maintenance of Major Roads
Busia Governor Dr. Paul Nyongesa Otuoma is reaching out to KeNHA and other agencies for the construction and maintenance of major roads in the County
Through collaborative effort with The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the county seeks to address road network challenges that have been experienced in the county.
Speaking when the KeNHA officials paid a courtesy call to H.E Dr. Paul Otuoma at his ATC offices, KeNHA Regional Director- Western Region, Eng. Sulati Karbolo indicated that they engaged on areas of collaboration in terms addressing the issue of vandalism of road infrastructure, encroachment and helping Performance Based Contractors perform their duties through provision of garbage bins, garbage collection centers within different centers along the roads and environmental conservation.
Some of the roads currently being maintained include: Busia – Malaba ( 28 km ), The Mubwekas- Mayoni – Ekero road which is a 54 km stretch with 31.2 km falling within Busia County, Bumala- Ejinja road, a 36 km with 27km in Busia, Kimaiti – Lwakhakha and Mungatsi-Kamaiti roads.
