Healthcare Initiative Draws Large Turnout in Trans Nzoia County

A collaborative effort between the County Government of Trans Nzoia, Equity Afya, Rani Foundation, and Namanjalala Rising witnessed a remarkable response from residents during a healthcare initiative.

The free medical camp drew in an impressive crowd, with over two thousand individuals benefiting from a spectrum of essential healthcare services.

Chief Guest, Governor George Natembeya, underscored the initiative’s core objective: to bring vital healthcare services directly to the people’s doorsteps.

The camp offered health education, eyesight checks, cervical cancer screenings, blood pressure and sugar tests, eye examinations, immunizations, orthopedic consultations, among other services.

Governor Natembeya stressed the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare measures. He highlighted his commitment to enhancing healthcare quality for all constituents, urging locals to leverage public health facilities to combat communicable and non-communicable diseases.

The Governor emphasized the necessity of good health for active participation in meaningful development, urging residents to exchange one 90-kilogram bag of maize for essential health services.

He aimed to shield them from financial strain caused by health expenses that could lead to poverty.

Encouraging adherence to medication guidelines and proper diet, Governor Natembeya urged locals to take prescribed drugs at scheduled times.

Shifting to education, the Governor revealed plans to vet pupils who scored 250 marks and above in their KCPE exams for potential bursary awards. He emphasized the distribution of 10,000 bursaries and scholarships to needy students and reiterated his commitment to facilitating 40,000 students’ seamless graduation without hindrances.
