I was Misquoted -Senator Mithika Linturi

Meru Senator Mithika Linturi has defended himself after he was arrested by police in Eldoret town Sunday morning.

Linturi was arrested after he made some utterances during the deputy president William Ruto Mega rally in Eldoret town on Saturday.

Speaking to the press after he was arrested Linturi said his utterances were misquoted.

“To the extent that it may be misquoted or been misunderstood but anybody that understands that was a UDA rally and what I meant is that all those people who are not followers of UDA should be rejected by the Uasin Gishu residents,'” said the Meru Senator.

“I am not a warlord or war monger I. Am peace loving citizen and preach peace I have ever no record of preaching violence ,” the deputy president William Ruto allied Senator added.

While in Eldoret during the deputy president William mega rally Linturi said “”Sisi tunataka kuwa kwa serikali inayokuja lakini nawaambia watu wa Uasin Gishu msicheze na Kenya na kile nawaomba ni kwamba madoadoa yale mliyonayo hapa muweze kuondoa. Hatuwezi kuwa tukisimama na William Ruto kule Mt Kenya na mko na wengine hapa hawasikii na hawawezi ungana naye…”.

Which is loosely translated “We want to be in the coming government but I am telling you the people of Uasin Gishu to remove the spits we have here. We cannot be supporting William Ruto in Mount Kenya and you have people here who doesn’t support him,”

Uasin Gishu is the home to the deputy president William Samoei Ruto who has declared his interest for the presidency come 2022.

The meeting was mentioned to endorse him for three presidency by localeaders and allow him to seek votes across the country.
