Busia Deputy Governor, Moses Mulomi has stated categorically that he is still in the Gubernatorial race with his running mate, CPA Tom Ipomai despite a myriad of rumors orchestrated by some of his worthy opponents.

Addressing the press at the Hotel Breeze in Busia Town, Mulomi assured his supporters that he will be on the ballot during the August 9 polls and God willing he will succeed Sospeter Ojaamong as the second Governor of Busia County.

“Give us a chance to serve you. I am a workaholic who has supervised many county projects. I have no doubt of my leadership potential which is my cardinal rule to confirm what I can do if given the mantle of the county leadership to represent the silent majority,” he said.

The Deputy Governor said he is unscathed by all manner of threats and intimidation directed against him, promising to intensify his campaigns as the D-day draws near with 17 days left to the polls.

He added, ” County residents will know I am a performer. The genesis of the rumour started three months ago. We shall continue solidifying votes for our Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate, the Rt Hon Raila Odinga.”

He noted that residents will vote according to own choice, exuding confidence that majority of them will vote for them to enable them take over the county leadership.

The DG hit out at some of his opponents who claim his 5 per cent rating compared to theirs is a pointer I have no chance!! ” Why panic with a person who has 5%? he wondered.

Mulomi who is vying for the seat on DAP-K ticket said politics is not about making noise and hitting the road but to leave peacefully and render quality service to county residents, adding that the county Government is currently working on the County Integrated Development Plan III.

He said his campaign style is different from his opponents who engage in theatrics, noting that he is a man who loves peace and God fearing.

He went on, “In 2017 when I came to salvage the Governor, I never held a single rally but I delivered many votes.
Mulomi’s running mate, CPA Ipomai said it was good riddance for some of the DAP-K candidates to abandon their camp, adding that they were campaigning in isolation with no agenda for Busia people.

” In any case those who defected are not competing with us for the Gubernatorial seat. The have been sabotaging our campaigns, thus the need to ignore them,” he said.
