IT’S BABA TO THE BALLOT- ODM NDC RESOLVE
The ODM National Delegates Convention today endorsed party leader, the Rt Hon Raila Odinga as the sole party Presidential candidate in the August 9th, 2022 general election.
The ODM National Election Board chairperson, Catherine Muma set the stage for endorsement of the Rt Hon Raila Odinga as the party’s flag bearer.
The Deputy party leader and Kakamega Governor, H.E Wycliffe Oparanya proposed for the endorsement of Raila as the sole candidate with Mombasa Governor, H.E Hassan Joe seconding his endorsement.
In his acknowledgement remarks,.Raila thanked the delegates for the honour bestowed upon him, vowing to carry the party’s flag beyond the ballot to State House.
” I am ready to fight for the top seat with other candidates through the Azimio La Umoja Movement. I am waiting for consent from Jubilee and Oka to actualize the dream of taking over the mantle of the country’s leadership,” he said.
The NDC also adopted recommendations by the National Governing Council suspending grassroots and national elections.
This the NGC noted was occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic. The elections have now been slated for 2023.
