Kakamega Held By Trans Nzoia In Kyisa Opener
Kakamega County men’s football team were held to a one-all draw in their first two Pool A matches of the Kenya Youth Intercounties Sports Association (KYISA) games played at the Kirubia Stadium in Tharaka Nithi County on Tuesday.
Kakamega, the crowd favorites, enjoyed a superior ball possesion in both halves and will rue several missed chances especially in the second half of their match with Trans Nzoia. Against Narok, the Green Jewel ambassadors gave away a one nil lead to settle for a similar score leaving them in the second position in the Pool with two points, two behind leaders Narok County. On Wednesday, tomorrow, they play hosts Tharaka Nithi in their first match of the day followed by the last Pool Match against Makueni County.
It was a bad day in office for their ladies counterparts who lost by a solitary goal to Nakuru County, a goal that was netted in the dying minutes of the game.
In Volleyball, Kakamega thrashed Nakuru three sets to nil in the men’s Pool B match and will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten record when they take on Migori and an indefatigable Trans Nzoia County team in their subsequent matches.
It was a no action day for the volleyball ladies who begin the campaign to retain the trophy they lifted in Kajiado last year, tomorrow, when they face off with neighbours Siaya County in their first match of the tournament.
