Kakamega Receives Drugs Worth Ksh 130 Million
Level IV and V Health facilities in Kakamega County have been re-stocked with drugs and non pharmaceuticals following a directive by H.E. the Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa that the facilities be supplied with adequate and sufficient drugs after every three months.
On Friday the County boss kicked off a Countywide launch of drugs and inspection tour of all the health facilities to ascertain the situation as his administration targets to make Kakamega the preferred destination for medical tourism by enhancing provision of quality health services to the people.
During the tour at Matungu and Makunga facilities, he also announced that his Government will equip the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital, to a tune of Ksh 3 Billion which will be advanced by the National Government, to boost provision of specialized healthcare to patients at the mega 750 capacity Level 6 Hospital.
The Governor thanked the President H.E. William Ruto for his willingness to support the County’s efforts of improving health services through infrastructure development and expressed his optimism that Kakamega will witness a massive transformation in the next ten years.
The Governor was accompanied by Members of County Assembly and County Executive Officers.
