Kanini Kega Welcomes Court Decision

Jubilee Party under the leadership of Hon Kanini Keega has welcomed courts decision declaring Jeremiah Kioni and David Murathe persona non gratta in matters pertaining jubilee party.

In a statement hon Kanini noted:
“Yesterday, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) delivered their judgment(s) which confirmed that I am duly in office as the acting National Secretary General of Jubilee Party. Henceforth, all official communication by Jubilee Patty will be made by yours truly.

The effect of the said judgment(s) on the leadership of the party means that Hon. Jeremiah Kioni and Hon. David Murathe stand expelled alongside the suspension of Mr. Kagwe Gichohi for a period of two years. In the same light, the following members will hold the respective offices as resolved by NEC on 10th February, 2023;
i) Hon. Kanini Kega, CBS — Ag. National Secretary General.
Hon. Adan Keynan Wehliye — Ag. National Deputy Chairperson.
iii) Hon. Rachael Nyamai — Ag. National treasurer.
As you are aware the National Executive Committee (NEC) previously resolved to hold a National Delegates Convention (NDC) and in that regard a notice convening the NDC for 7th August, 2023 will be sent out to members.
In preparation for the NDC, we will soon hold meetings at the county level in order to receive views of our members on important national issues as well as sensitize them on the policies of our party.
We would also like to address you on the following issues;
i) We take great exception to the condemnation of the PPDT by Hon. Jeremiah Kioni following their judgment(s) yesterday. Hon. Kioni was over the moon celebrating the issuance of dozens of conservatory orders that were all issued
Mbele Pamoja in his favour. Now, he has turned against the tribunal and is viciously attacking its members. The former secretary General must accept that the sword of justice cuts both ways.
There is another issue that has come to our attention this afternoon. This relates to the apparent leakage of the judgment jn PPDTA No. 3 of 2023. It appears that the former Secretary General has had prior knowledge of the judgment that was scheduled to be delivered this afternoon at 2.30 p.m. Hon. Kioni was seen on national television brandishing the purported judgment and he should be investigated for possible interference with the operations of the tribunal.
We have learnt that the former Secretary General has abandoned the party offices at Dik Dik Gardens and left party property there unattended. It would be irresponsible of the former SG not to make arrangements for a proper handover of the party premises and all the party property that was under his care.
We will keep you updated on further progress as we proceed with our preparations for the NDC. Finally, we thank all our members and leaders who have stood firm with the party during the period that the cases were ongoing in the courts. We will rebuild the party together and move it to great heights.
