Kapkory’s Claims are Politically Motivated- Governor Natembeya
Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya reiterated concerns about differences with his deputy, dismissing them as politically motivated.
Responding to questions from the press after meeting with NCIC officials at Brittam Towers, on Tuesday,Governor Natembeya said allegations by his deputy Phelomena Kapkory against him are baseless.
Natembeya however said he can only work with his deputy after he becomes remorseful.
He said the Deputy Governor should observe discipline and ethics at work in order for the two to work effectively.
“My deputy must know that I am in charge of the county and I remain the governor and she is the DG,there is no day we can be two governors at the same time”said the governor.
Natembeya’s deputy petitioned him at the Senate on allegations of being mistreated at work, insecurity at her town Hall office, threats from junior staff, nepotism and tribalism.
On Monday however, the governor appears before the Senate committee on Devolution and intergovernmental relations and distanced himself from the allegations.
He said if the Deputy governor’s life was in danger, she should have reported to the police.
After appearing before NCIC,the governor said he was questioned about allegations on social media which were interpreted as hate speech.
He refuted the allegations of having any link with such messages adding that he had responded to all the questions and will be waiting for it’s report.
