Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya on Thursday held briefs with officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) and development partners, the Africa Development Bank (ADB) on the construction progress of mega road networks that pass through the county.

The delegation which paid a courtesy at his office Thursday morning briefed him on the progress of the Kitale – Leseru road & the Kitale – Endebbes – Suam highway and disclosed that the latter is 81 percent complete.

The roads will enhance trade between Kenya and her regional neighbour states including Uganda, South Sudan and the D.R. Congo with great business potential for Kitale town as a regional hub.

They will further strengthen regional ties among the East African member states by easing congestion and long waiting hours for cargo clearance at the entry/exit border points.

The Governor affirmed that he will partner with the implementing agencies and the development partners to ensure the project is completed in due time.
