Rivatex East Africa on Tuesday evening played host to the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) board of trustees.

The team led by its chairperson Mrs. Kristina Pratt was received by Managing Director Professor Thomas Kipkurgat and management.

The visiting team upon touring the vertically integrated mill heaped praises on the management for strides made while urging the team to put more emphasis on the production of local apparel saying most citizens are currently rooting for Made in Kenya products.

“You are doing a fantastic job and we are impressed as the board. Our visit was fronted by our desire to understand the textile processes because we believe that the sector is key in nation-building. From what we have seen at the factory, it is clear that the future is in manufacturing and an avenue where jobs are created and a big contributor to the country’s economy,” said Pratt.

Professor Kipkurgat noted that the company has continued to spur the economy through backward and forwarding integration and linkages.

“Rivatex is a key driver in contributing to the advancement of manufacturing through the growth of the cotton textile & apparel value chain. We look forward to more engagements with both public and private players so that our products can be accessed by all citizens,” he added.

The chairperson was accompanied by Hon. Major (Rtd) Marsden Madoka, Hon. Senator Margaret Kamar, Annie Mugambi, Dr. Mike Kiswili, Prof Julia Ojiambo, and Professor Francis Kibera among other trustees.
