Kericho County Referral Hospital Carries First As Successful Thoractomic Surgery
In a progressive move guided by strategic planning and execution, Kericho County Refferal Hospital as today stood out of its peers by holding it’s first cardio-thoracic surgery.
The four hour operation led by our cardiac and vascular surgeon Dr.Gilbert Langat involved accessing a collapsed lung for fluid drainage ,a very delicate operation which requires top notch surgical skills.
This novel surgery is a result of a Ksh 16 million investment by the County Government of Kericho to purchase cardio-thoracic kits,sets and equipment besides sending key personnel for training.
Guided by the visionary leadership of Kericho Governor Dr.Erick Mutai ,Kericho is also set to join the league of National Refferal Hospitals by offering Neurosurgery operations within it’s ranks.This is courtesy of strategic investment in training of 3 neurosurgeons and equipping the facility with the necessary equipment.
