Speaking to the press at the Eldoret sports club during the launch the Kesses legislator said his aim is to ensure that his administration nurtures untapped talents.
“Today I have officially launched the Dr. Mishra Inaugural Soccer Tournament’ this will help nurture talents sporting talent among the youth and empowering them to harness their potential will create a platform for advancing sports academies,” said the Kesses legislator.
The Kesses legislator who is serving his first term in office has empowered youths, women, and people with disability financially making them self-reliant.
“It will also aid the progressive development of a skilled pool of young people ready to join the professional ranks and earn decent pay. 60 percent of the World’s population don’t practice their population but instead, use their talents to earn a living.
The tournament will bring on board 32 teams that will play across the constituency.
During the official Inaugural Ceremony of Hon. Kiprop Mishra Tournament at SportsClub grounds in Racecourse Ward Kesses.
“32 teams will play across the Constituency where the winner will be awarded Ksh. 250,000 first runners up Ksh. 125,000 2nd runners up to be awarded Ksh. 75,000. A numerous number of medals will be awarded to various winners,” he added.
The Chief Guest was Andrew Amukoa who is the Former FKF Vice President congratulated the legislator for nurturing talents.
“This is the way to go if your nurture untapped talents youths will earn from their talents and they will not be used to cause violence,” he said.
“We have come to promote youths since sports bring peace, when abroad we represent Kenyans and not tribes. Sports brings people together,” said Ezekiel Kemboi, a double Olympic champion, and three-time world champion.
