Lamu Speaker Requests the President to Intervene on the State of Grassroot Leaders(MCA’S)
Lamu County Assembly Speaker Azhar Ali Mbarak yesterday wowed many after he appeared before President William Ruto who is in a working tour in Lamu and narrated the plight of county residents to the head of state.
Without fear, Mbarak who spoke amid cheers said it was high time Lamu county was not left behind in terms of development.
Mbarak who appeared to make a strong case compared to other county leaders said Lamu county has alot of potential that is yet to be exploited.
“Your excellency, Lamu is one of the best counties ever. This county has most hospitable people and has alot that is yet to be revealed,” said.
Mbarak said the county has potential in fisheries.
Known for his courage, Mbarak said the country has also managed to make alot of progress in terms of security.
At the same time he asked the head of state to intervene on the state of MCAs.
He has been an MCA since 2007.
He served as Councillor and then MCA for Shella Ward
