Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya Elected Uasin Gishu Jubilee Party Chairman
Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya has been elected Uasin Gishu Jubilee Party interim chairman.
Speaking to the press after his election Muya said he will ensure that the party is not only popular in Uasin Gishu but the whole of Rift valley.
“Today we held an election of Jubilee party officials and I am happy that party members have faith in my leadership by electing me their chairman and I promise to work for them tirelessly to reclaim the glory of our ruling party,” said Muya after being elected as Jubilee party Uasin Gishu Chairman.
He noted that it has been shameful that despite Jubilee being the ruling party it was not vibrant in the county.
“It has been very shameful that in this great county we have not seen jubilee party being that is why we have decided to have interim office bearers to help us run the affairs of the party,” he added.
Muya noted that the party will fill candidates for the MCA position in Langas, Huruma, Kiplombe , Moisbridge, Kapsoya wards respectively.
Uasin Gishu is the home county of the deputy president William Samoei Ruto who has declared his interest in the presidency in the forthcoming general election.
“Uasin Gishu despite being the home county of the deputy president William Ruto who was in Jubilee party, he left us in Jubilee and he knows we are diehards of jubilee and he has no problem of us being in Jubilee party,” he said.
UDA party which is linked to the deputy president William Ruto is also the dominant party in the region.
“We are affirming our support to President Uhuru Kenyatta and we will support his preferred presidential candidate who is none other than Raila Amolo Odinga,” he said.
Wakili Kimani Wanjohi aspirant Huruma Ward congratulated all those who were elected urging them to work round the clock to ensure that the party secures more seats.
“I am happy we now have an interim office of Jubilee party in the County, people thought that the party was dead in Uasin Gishu since its UDA stronghold. We will campaign round the clock to ensure that the Jubilee party has at least five seats in the forthcoming elections. Want to tell mount Kenya people that despite them trying to kill jubilee party in Uasin Gishu is we will make it strong,” he said
Mumbi Ngugi called on women to go for elective seats and should not always wait to be nominated since what a man can do a woman can do better.
Francis Maina Njoroge said “We are behind Jubilee party
under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and we will campaign for the opposition leader Raila Odinga to clinch the presidency not because he is a Luo but because he is fit to be the country’s president,”
Francis Muya was elected chairman Jubilee party Uasin Gishu, Zachary Githaiga as treasurer, secretary Paul Maina , organizing Secretary went Andrew Kwabaguru, Women representative Mumbi Ngugi, Youth Representative -Titus Osirimong, Vice-chairman -Julius Gituku, Vice secretary -Martin Mutunga while Vice organizing secretary went Martha Wangeci.
