Medical Officer Kills Self In His Mother’s House
A 35-year-old medical officer died by suicide in Rongo, Migori County on Thursday following suspected domestic wrangles.
The deceased, Fredrick Owuor, was found dead in his mother’s house in Kabuoro Sub-location with his body dangling on a rope tied around his neck.
Area Assistant Chief Johanes Ooko Malela confirmed the incident, stating that they are yet to establish why the medical officer took his own life.
However unconfirmed reports revealed that he had family issues with his wife.
The area assistant chief said the matter is still under police investigation.
The body of the deceased was moved to Rosewood Hospital mortuary pending autopsy and police investigations.
Meanwhile, a section of provincial administrators in Migori County have raised concern over rising cases of suicide in the county urging members of the public to use alternative conflict resolution mechanisms.
In the past week, more than two cases of suicide have been reported in Migori County according to police reports.
