Mediheal Group of Hospitals Celebrates a Milestone of Conducting 200 Successful Kidney Transplant
Mediheal Group of Hospitals has celebrated a milestone of conducting 200+ successful kidney transplant surgeries in two amd a half years.
Speaking to the press the Chief Transplant Surgeon Dr. Sanand A Bag, this is since the inauguration of the Mediheal Group of Hospitals Kidney transplant Unit in 2019.
“As a hospital, we are happy to celebrate such a milestone in just two years. We attribute this success first of all to God- The giver of life and good health, to the public for trusting us and giving us an opportunity to serve them and to our Chairman Dr. Mishra Swarup Mishra for being a constant source of inspiration,” he said
“We can only strive to achieve more by the grace of God as we continue to Transform Healthcare In Africa,” he added.
Cathrine Lichuma Kidney transplant patient who was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2019 where she started being sick.
“We came to Mediheal hospital where kidney transplant was done and compared to how I was feeling I am much better and i am doing all the activities that I used to do,” said Lagat.
She, however, cried about the high cost of medication after the transplant and called for NHIF to cater for the drugs.
“We want to call upon NHIF to cater for our medication after transplant by ensuring they pay expenses of the post kidney transplant,” added Lichuma.
Eunice Chelagat from Nandi hills says she was diagnosed with a kidney problem in the year 2014.
“I went to India for treatment before the transplant was brought to Mediheal hospital but it wasn’t successful. I thank Mediheal hospital for bringing kidney transplants to me since a successful surgery was done and now I am okay. I was in a wheelchair but now I can do my things successfully,” she says.
