MTRH COLLEGE OF MEDICINE HOLDS 11TH GRADUATION CEREMONY
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) College of Medicine (CoM) held 11th graduation ceremony today, 26th August 2022.
Five hundred and fifty-five (555) graduated at the blended event with various Diplomas and Certificates.
The College Director Mr. Caleb Koech noted that more than 3,800 specialists have gone through the College since inception and currently working internationally.
The Chief Guest during the ceremony Prof. Kuremu Tenge, Ag. Vice Chancellor Moi University said empowerment of Colleges such as MTRH College of Medicine by the Ministry of Health will aid in achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kenya.
Prof. Tenge congratulated the graduating class of 2022, saying the specialities such as Nephrology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Clinical Medicine Oncology and Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) form core Human Resources for Health(HRH). He urged the graduands to go out, do their best and excel.
While addressing the graduands, Dr. Wilson Aruasa, MBS, EBS, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MTRH praised the partnership with Moi University and International partners who contribute immensely to training of the highly qualified healthcare professionals.
Dr. Aruasa, also thanked the leadership of the College saying more work has gone into achieving the success through the class of 2022 whose achievement is the pride of entire MTRH family.
Dr. Aruasa lauded both Efficiency and Financial Audits undertaken this year in the College, as these contributed to the success stories.
The CEO reiterated MTRH’s True North of Excellent Healthcare Delivery, Purpose , ‘To be Pro- Health and promote the well-being of the People and the Planet where they live’, adding that specialists graduating from MTRH CoM will promote Family/ Community health, which is the foundation of a healthy nation.
Dr. Aruasa also called on the College community and Hospital staff to embrace the Skills of the 21st Century and Beyond which are Curiosity, Communication and Constant yet positive Change.
He urged all MTRH staff to be guided in all they do by Institutional Core Values of Honesty, Transparency, Accountability, Efficiency and Quality.
MTRH Board Chairman Mr. Sitoyo Lopokoiyit congratulated the graduands who made it to the graduation list despite the COVID-19 pandemic which disrupted many functions in the whole world for the last two years.
Mr. Lopokoiyit thanked Hospital partners who continue their contribution making MTRH an outstanding Institution in the Country.
He said the Hospital Board is committed to initiate the construction of the Ultra-Modern Multi-Specialty Hospital and College Campus at Kiplombe, aimed at enhancing capacity of MTRH College of Medicine.
