MUMIAS MODERN BUS PARK COMMISSIONED
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya Tuesday commissioned the new Mumias Modern Bus Park in Mumias Municipality, a flagship project that is set to enhance connectivity within Kakamega County and the neigbouring Counties.
The facility constructed in partnership with the World Bank consists of a Management block comprising of 5 offices and 1 boardroom, a lactation room, a restaurant block and three ablution blocks.
Dr. Oparanya noted that with eight ticketing offices, the bus park has a capacity of accomodating 16 buses at any given time, 36 matatus and has 48 parking lots for taxis. It also has a Mini market that has additional 13 stalls in total.
The Governor also commissioned Mumias Non-Motorized Transport (Walkway) that will improve road safety for road users in the Municipality. In addition to the two, the County boss also launched the Municipality’s Logo and Flag as well as Strategic & Waste Management Plans.
